Chevelle Irvin Biography

Born and raised in New Haven, Chevelle Irvin began work with Yale Hospitality as a banquet server at the age of 16 and quickly became a star in the department. She has filled many essential roles and currently serves as logistics team lead for Yale Catering and the Culinary Support Center, where she organizes the centralized distribution of all deliveries to the residential colleges and special events. She was the 2021 recipient of the Working Women’s Network Heroine award and has served on the selection committee since then. During the COVID pandemic, she led her critical function team in the packaging and delivery of isolation meals to stranded students and first responders residing in our residential colleges, receiving a Linda Lorimer award for her service.

In her down time, Irwin enjoys salsa dancing in New Haven and the Tristate area. She aims to travel the world dancing, cooking, and eating.
