As announced on July 1, 2025, Dean Heather K. Gerken is leaving the university on August 1, 2025 to serve as the next president of the Ford Foundation following eight years of distinguished service as Dean of Yale Law School. President Maurie McInnis has formed a search committee that will be charged with identifying the next Dean of Yale Law School.
The Dean Search Committee will solicit input from Yale Law School faculty, students, staff, alumni, and University leadership as part of its process in the coming months. The committee has created an online form to receive input and feedback during this process. Updates will be posted periodically to this page as the Committee’s work progresses.
