Search Advisory Committee for the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

As announced in September, Tamar Gendler, Vincent J. Scully Professor of Philosophy and Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science, is returning to the Yale faculty after completing two terms of service as the inaugural dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences on December 31, 2024. President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel have formed a search advisory committee to help them identify candidates to succeed Dean Gendler.
 
They have charged the search advisory committee to solicit input from FAS faculty and staff—as well as from the wider university community. The committee has created an online form to receive suggestions on candidates and qualifications that should be considered for the next dean of the FAS. 
 
Announcements
As announced in an October 10 message to the FAS from Marvin Chun, chair of the Search Advisory Committee, the committee will hold a virtual listening session for all FAS faculty and staff on Friday, October 25, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Zoom details will be distributed by email the week of October 21.
