Students celebrating on graduation

Cultivating Education, Scholarship, and Research

Teaching is at the heart of our university, and the work being done in our classrooms and research facilities invigorates our mission. To facilitate meaningful learning, Yale is committed to ensuring our students can follow their passions, ambitions, and extraordinary talents without financial constraint.

We continue to refine our resources to communicate as clearly as possible about aid and opportunities for our students, including our graduate and professional school students, whose intellect and drive enrich Yale, their fields of research, and the world at large.

Opening doors

In January 2026, Yale expanded its financial aid program to cover all costs of attendance for families with incomes below $100,000, as well as ensure that families making less than $200,000 will receive scholarships which meet or exceed the cost of tuition.

Under the new threshold, 8 in 10 families in the U.S. will be eligible for free tuition at Yale College, and nearly half of American households with schoolchildren will be eligible to attend Yale College at zero cost.

Yale is demonstrating that a great education doesn’t have to be an expensive one.

Maximizing resources

Every dollar we save is one we can invest in our students and faculty. To that end, Senior Vice President Geoff Chatas and his team are working to simplify university operations to support our mission.

That includes improving the delivery of support services, reducing day-to-day complexity in university operations, and optimizing how the university manages procurement, executes capital projects, and performs functions related to finance and human resources.

By improving the way we deliver critical services, we will help make additional resources available for research, scholarship, and education, including financial aid.
